Distortion Ø 2024 announces first batch of artists
Distortion Ø 2024 is ready with the first 19 artists for its next edition.
The festival is ready with the first pieces in the puzzle for Distortion 2024 and the first 19 names for next year’s Distortion Ø on Refshaleøen, including 6 main names: I Hate Models (FR), Sven Väth (DE), Mall Grab (AU), Sara Landry (US), Partiboi69 (AU) and DJ Heartstring (DE). The four stages at Distortion Ø 2024 are Rave Stage, Sunrise Stage, Forest Stage and Shadow Scene.
Rave Stage
French I Hate Models is the absolute biggest announcement of the day. His non-conformist style fills
huge club rooms worldwide. Both in his production, DJ sets and releases through his label
Disco Inferno goes his emotional range beyond nostalgia, to passion, loneliness,
melancholy and brutality.
American Sara Landry is on her way to the top of the starry sky among artists such as Amelie Lens and Charlotte de Witte, who are proclaimed fans of her dark forward and divine feminine hard techno which has become her hallmark. She is the best selling female producer on Beatport in hard techno and owner of the label HECATE.
Also playing on the Rave stage is Danish Schacke from the Fast Forward collective, which guarantees it distinctive Danish fast techno and Dutch DYEN, born out of Rotterdam’s Gabber and hardcore stage, which builds up to a perfect night with perhaps the heaviest techno Ø has laid asphalt.
The Forest Stage
The sensation plays on the stage, which presents modern house and genre-fluid club music Partiboi69 from Australia whose goal is to spread digital love and 69 techniques directly to yours senses. The duo DJ Heartstring from Germany, who released the EP ‘Why can’t we live’ this autumn together’ with Narciss, also plays on the Forest Stage under the treetops. UK talent Effy has just been nominated for best UK Breaktrough Producer 2023 by DJ Mag, who together with Australian Mall Grab – one of the biggest stars within the genre, owns record company Fragrance. Down the same ballpark, Irish Kettama plays with a penchant for feel good anthems, which once Mall Grab gave his track on a usb stick while Kettama was still living at his house mother. Mall Grab picked it up, started playing the track in his sets worldwide – and the two are today close friends.
Dana Montana was born in Zaporozhye, Ukraine, and from her residence in Belgium, she has developed his rave style, as a smooth mix of house, hard house and trance, inspired by the party spirit from the 90s and early 00s. American selector DJ Avalon Emerson plays warm club music – and with its broad musical taste and roots in American, experimental underground, she puts smiles on the lips of her dancing audience.
Sunrise Stage
At Sunrise, the festival’s big melodic techno names play. German Sven Väth had his debut in Frankfurt in 1981. With over 40 years of experience behind the desk, he has helped to define and establish the modern electronic club scene both in Germany and in Ibiza. Sven Väth who is legendary to master the long set of composition, playing the closing set on the Sunrise Stage on Friday night at Ø. Others perform in connection with the Berlin scene and the international melodic scene is also making its way about Refshaleøen this summer: French Temple Tears and German Madmotormiquel, Mollono.Bass, Kaufmann, Sven Lohse, as well as Frida Darko and Atric, who spoil us with a back2back set.
Distortion Ø 2024 will take place on 31 of May and 1 of June
Distortion Ø was held for the first time in 2015 and is located in the green forest area at Refshaleøen. Distortion Ø is the culmination of Distortion festival week, and the only outdoor festival for modern club genres with an audience capacity of 10,000+, which is held in Scandinavia.
