Mongo’s ‘Krypton’ coming out on Born Electric
After a few leftfield releases courtesy of Pedram and Cloud Boat, Born Electric goes back to the heavier hinterland with a lump of driving tech house from south coast sci-fi connoisseurs Mongo.
Palpitating with a thrusting, space-aged physical dynamic that rises and rises with just the right amount of tension, you can hear why support has been pledged for the south coast duo from the very top. Carl Cox, John Digweed, Groove Armada, Hot Since 82 … And of course, Born Electric boss James Zabiela who’s also commissioned the perfect remix from Vin Sol.
He delivers a bomb that instantly delineates with militant spitting hi-hats, a loose bouncy groove, and snappy diversions into sinewy leads that disappear before you realise.
A perfect peak time track and an anarchic after hours joint: the two most important parts of the night covered succinctly.
