Karrusel Festival 2025 will open the gates to its enchanted festival area on Thursday 28 August, with the Main Phase at the Arkaden stage. The Danish UK Garage producer has made a solid name for himself on the British scene.
Arkaden is Karrusel’s newest stage, which creates a party in the middle of a vintage radio car arcade floor. Danish Hedo Hydr8 delivers new sounds to your ear canal with his futuristic take on UK club genres. At Tribunen, the Danish Schaarup and the German El Mundo, released on Berlin’s Quetame
Records, among others, will play with their warm, cathartic sets, which create an emotional world that stands still long enough for you to look into yourself. At Manegen, S.A.M., Ditte Alexandra and Elias Gozal will also play, with Paul Kalkbrenner being the big headliner on Karrusel’s opening day.
On Friday, August 29, London-based DJ and producer DJ Boring will be added to Karrusel’s largest stage, Manegen, with the spinning carousel in the background. The Australian selector and lo-fi house dj digs up rough diamonds in the form of unknown older tracks and pairs them with brand new fresh
cuts. DJ Boring creates his exceptional sets, which call the audience back to the club culture’s roots of liberating self-expression, positive energy and unmistakable passion for music. Warm up with his unrivaled Boiler Room from the Sydney-based Sunday club Lost Sundays.
Township Rebellion defines itself as a community of German electronic music producers and artists. You could almost wonder if Fusion Festival would take place without them, as their melodic, grandiose techno has made them regular guests behind the desk. Township Rebellion played Burning Man and Strawberry Fields in Australia last summer. Now they are playing Karrusel 2025.
Danish Bless you brings their live set up to Karrusel with catchy electronic and house-inspired hits. Westerby, Schaarup, DJ 2Late and NAT also play on Friday. Bullet Tooth takes over the arcade floor of the radio car hall Arkaden, leading a new generation of high-speed garage. The same stage also features Danish Smokey, Sound and Fury, Mbizo and Muskila.
On Saturday, August 30, HVOB, which is an abbreviation for ‘Her Voice Over Boys’, plays. The Austrian duo’s trademark live set combines beautiful melancholic vocal melodies, minimalist electronica and flowing, sonic landscapes of melodic techno. Warm up with their soft, beautifully lit evening set from last year’s Burning Man, which stands as a bright spot in the middle of Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.
Ukrainian techno DJ Daria Kolosova will be at Manegen on Saturday before Charlotte de Witte. Based in Berlin, Daria Kolosova plays in the style of hard house, but has not limited herself to borrowing from hard and groovy techno, breakbeat, industrial and hardcore. She has played Berghain, Fabric, Awakenings Festival and the clubs Amnesia, Hi and DC10 in Ibiza.
French Miley Serious seamlessly blends the electronic and punk of Paris and New York City, where she lives. It goes down hard when she takes the stands, as she fuses bass, breaks, dnb and beats, bending conventions for the sound of new UK Garage. Check out her Boiler Room and Japan Nylon sets to understand her charismatic powerhouse energy, which leaves such a big imprint that she makes every beat tell a story.
Other performers on Saturday’s program are Alma Linda and Maria Theresia Von Eberg, who play down the German fusion sound. GOÐI and Prom Night play at Manegen. Eloq plays a UK garage party set, and OHOI, the team behind Bas under Buen, delivers drum ‘n’ bass at Arkaden on Saturday.
