3 of the best showcases at The BPM Festival Portugal 2019
Last week, the BPM Festival Portugal was back for a third year in Portimão, with one of its best programs to date. The BPM Festival 2019 spoiled us with an expansive program featuring showcases from some of the best and most respected record labels, promoters and party brands such as, Cuttin’ Headz, Ellum, Paradise, YA’AH MUUL hosted by BPM Festival, Neopop x Brunch Electronik Lisboa, Serán Bendecidos, Detroit Love, Mindshake, Kaluki Musik, Deeperfect, FORM Music, Rukus, MAAC (Music Against Animal Cruelty) and many other. The events spreading across four days and nights from Thursday until Monday morning, the playa was packed with some of the finest house and techno DJs, making the choice of what to attend far from easy…
This year The BPM Festival Portugal partly changed its setup by having both day and night parties on the beach at Blanco Beach Club and NoSoloÁgua Portimão, whilst still keeping some of the night events at Katedral and Oceans Club.
Both the NoSoloÁgua and Blanco Beach Club stages were hinting to the original roots of the festival. The stages were decorated with beautiful white dream catchers, lush flowers and bushes, white nets, exuding the exotic vibes of Tulum and Playa del Carmen. The crowd across the entire BPM Portugal was friendly and open to soak in what the DJs spinning.
Ellum Showcase x BPM Portugal 2019
Maceo Plex took his label Ellum for yet another showcase this year. On Saturday, in Blanco Beach Club, Maceo Plex was joined by Ellum and Mosaic regulars Jennifer Cardini, Danny Daze, Âme (DJ set) and Shall Ocin. A complementing lineup The darker settings at Blanco Beach Club had the lasers cut through the darkness and moving bodies, whilst Maceo Plex was dropping ‘When The Lights Are Out – Garage Mix’. Throughout the night Maceo Plex and Co raised the energy up and down with finest flare, riffing off the beach in front of a packed, sweaty and joyful crowd.

Neopop Festival and Brunch Electronik Lisboa joined forces for a one-off showcase at The BPM Portugal at NoSoloÁgua Portimão. The lineup that night was nothing short of prodigious. It featured Adriatique, Stephan Bodzin (Live), Laurent Garnier, Josh Wink, Cellini, Gromma and Gusta-vo B2B Tiago Fragateiro.
On Sunday night through the early hours of Monday, Josh Wink, Adriatique, Stephan Bodzin and Laurent Garnier all enchanted and fired up the crowd with carefully selected and blended deep, powerful and hypnotic music. The night was tangled with some acid stabs from Josh Wink and Adriatique, energetic and melodic techno from Stephan Bodzin, and groovy tunes from the legend Laurent Garnier.

Cuttin’ Headz quite literally brought the heat at The BPM Portugal 2019 for a memorable closing party at Blanco Beach Club. The Martinez Brothers, brought with them friend and co-label owner at Tuskegee Seth Troxler, as well as Honey Dijon, Jesse Calosso and Jean Pierre, the last two of which delivered a brilliant B2B.
From unreleased gems to iconic records, and remix of classics, the music delivered by all DJs at the Cuttin’ Headz showcase x BPM Festival Portugal was incredibly exciting, and left the crowd spellbound.
