Distortion Festival 2017 – best electronic music parties to attend

With Distortion Festival 2017 in full swing we have curated a guide for the best electronic music parties and acts to visit at this year’s festival during its street parties in Copenhagen neighborhood Vesterbro, and Distortion Ø taking place at the former industrial site – Refshaleøen.

Distortion Street parties  – Vesterbro

Culture Box – Thursday
The Culture Box Street Party hits the heart of Vesterbro for the very first time. The free outdoor event will be lead by some of the club’s resident DJs including Tim Andresen and Ena Cosovic. Culture Box offers both the right , dancing atmosphere, as well as chill and sitting area with pallets on both sides of the tent in the centre of Sønder Boulevard nr. 69-71. If you are looking for class techno and house music, this is a must place to stop by during Distortion Vesterbro.

Taco Pop up  event with Dubfire – Thursday

Ali Shirazinia aka Dubfire, is known for his love of food and international cuisines. On Thursday during Distortion Vesterbro, Dubfire & the acclaimed Noma chef Rosio – Hija De Sanchez will come together for a special taco pop up event, on Halmtorvet, 40 right across the Meatpacking District. Come to celebrate together music and food.

Emotive Sounds – Thursday
Emotive Sounds is proud to present the official street party at DISTORTION 2017. Emotive Sound stage will be a celebration of the underground music scene in Denmark, giving stage to some of the best local talent, from the label boss Andrea Martini to Remodel incl. the upcoming and talented Mai Schaarup and many more.

Distortion Club – Culture Box

Distortion Club is an international festival for emerging dance music, curated by Copenhagen’s finest venues. On Thursday night, when day 2 and Distortion Vesterbro ends, we go underground to the electronic music club and venue Culture Box, where the Zurich based DJ and producer duo Adriatique are paying a visit. Their partnership has mastered while bridging the perspectives of two varied backgrounds bound by the ultimate desire to forge a unique sonic signature and connect with the audience that shares their deeply held belief that music is meditation. Adriatique will be supported by the local DJ Ian Bang and Henri Matisse.

 

Distortion Ø, Refshaleøen

Having had a taste of the street parties – you are well warmed up for Distortion Ø’. This is where the actual festival starts and does that in a labyrinth of massive exotic stages across the harbour at Refshaleøen.

Friday

Container Stage (Main stage)

On Friday the Main Stage (Container stage) will be headlined by one of the world’s biggest electronic music duo – Tale Of Us (listen to their Afterlife compilation here). The Italian superstars are finally coming back on Danish soil after two years. Their last gig back then happened for the Distortion Club event and took place at Culture Box.

Saturday

Container Stage (Main Stage) 

On Saturday the Main Stage will salute a man who, in the world of electronic music, needs no introduction – Maceo Plex. Storming the Deep House and Techno music scene over the past 10 years, Maceo Plex has created his own distinguishing sound, and is continuing to push the boundaries with his upcoming new album ‘Solar’ (listen to a preview here).
